Career Experience
With rich experience in patent preparation and prosecution, he dealt with complex technical subject matters in a range of technology areas, including mechanical and electrical technologies, physics and telecommunications. He has represented clients in patent invalidation and reexamination proceedings before the Patent Reexamination Board of China, and in related patent litigations. Before co-founding the firm, Bonn worked for Unitalen Law Firm and China Patent Agent (HK) co. Ltd., and has represented local and foreign Fortune 100 and other companies, including those at the forefront of technological and engineering innovation, such as General Motors, General Electric, and Toyota Corporations, Siemens, Osram, Delphi, and Honeywell.
Expertise Field
Bonn Song holds extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting Chinese and foreign patent applications, preparing validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate opinions, and works with clients to develop strategic patent portfolios. He is experienced in drafting and negotiating a wide range of patent license and assignment agreements as well as assisting with other services related to utility models and layout designs. He counsels clients on the full range of patent issues and works directly with inventors, entrepreneurs and agents from early stage to registration. He is also competent in other areas of intellectual property and handles a variety of matters, including trademarks, domain names and copyrights.
Education
Bonn received his Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law (LLM) from Renmin University of China and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BME) from Hebei Engineering University, China.
